Engineers

Cooper Associates has successfully been providing Structural Engineering advice, reports, drawings and calculations to clients since Martin Cooper started the practice in 1991.  Martin graduated from Kingston University in 1979, cutting his teeth with the Resident Engineer overseeing the construction of the British Steel Blast Furnace at Redcar Steelworks, in the North East of England.

After graduating, a period was spent with Kenchington Little and Partners (now part of WSP). This included working on the construction of Sainsbury's supermarkets and other new build projects; on occasions as the Resident Engineer for the project.  After getting Chartered with both the Institute of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Structural Engineers in 1983, he moved to Cameron Taylor Bedford where he gained considerable experience of both refurbishment and new build design projects.

Cooper Associates provide a wide range of structural services from the new build design of blocks of flats to the refurbishment of a terrace of Victorian houses, forming flats or perhaps a hotel. We provide Structural Engineering Reports for home buyers, or for clients with cracks in their buildings.  We monitor subsidence damage and provide solutions to stabilize the building, hopefully without underpinning; loft extensions, basement conversions, removal of loadbearing walls, etc.
